Presents
Presentation Skills I

With Professor Neil R. Gumenick and Dr. Eliot Ivanhoe
Assisted by Brian Bender, Lisa Gumenick and Amy Gumenick

Saturday & Sunday, March 24 - 25, 2012
Santa Monica, CA

The communication skills of the accomplished actor
are much the same as those of the teacher or practitioner of acupuncture.
In each case, one must be fully present, emotionally open, receptive, and genuinely responsive to either
another actor onstage, a patient on the table, or a class assembled to receive one's teaching.

Learn to connect to an audience in a way that will keep them on the edge of their seats
and to patients in a way that will truly gain their trust.
Through theater exercises and feedback in a real teaching situation, your confidence and love of teaching and practice
will soar as you joyfully break through your barriers of stage fright, shyness, and self doubt.

Come professionally dressed and fully prepared (with appropriate audio/visual aids) to deliver a five-minute talk on
an Oriental Medicine topic of your choice, targeted either to a lay audience of prospective patients
or a beginning acupuncture class hearing the information for the first time.

Whether you are a teacher or not, in this seminar, you will gain communication skills that will profoundly enhance your presentations to students, prospective patients, as well as enrich your rapport skills with those in your practice.
