Endorsed by Professor J.R. Worsley
The Institute of Classical Five-Element Acupuncture, under the direction of Neil R. Gumenick, was approved and endorsed by the late Professor J.R. Worsley on January 20, 1999. That approval and endorsement states:
We, J.R. and J.B. Worsley, hereby authorize Neil R. Gumenick to teach and direct instruction in the basic theoretical and practical, classroom and clinical components of Classical Five-Element Acupuncture training as developed and taught by us. We also authorize him to certify successful graduates and sign their diplomas, entitling such graduates to be able to participate in advanced training programs, courses, consultations, seminars, and teacher trainings presented or designed by us or based upon our teachings. Neil R. Gumenick
Professor Neil R. Gumenick, M.Ac. (UK), L.Ac., Dipl. Ac., is Founder and Director of The Institute of Classical Five-Element Acupuncture, which offers training in this profound system of body/mind/Spirit medicine. He has maintained a private practice since 1981 and has served as a Professor at Yo San University, SAMRA University, and Emperor's College. He has taught at the UCLA and USC Schools of Medicine, the Worsley Institute of Classical Acupuncture, California Acupuncture College, Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine, Pacific College of Health and Science, New England School of Acupuncture, Pacific Rim College, Southern California University of Health Sciences, the Pacific Symposium, CSOMA Expo, AOM Alliance Expo, the CETN International Acupuncture Symposium (São Paulo, Brazil), and the Canadian Oriental Medical Symposium. Neil holds three degrees and an advanced teaching credential from The College of Traditional Acupuncture (UK), awarded by the late Professor J.R. Worsley.
Neil was a founding member, senior coach, and ten-year participant in J.R. Worsley's Master Apprentice Program (MAP™). He received the Worsley Institute Award for Outstanding Service in 1990 and the 2007 AAAOM Pioneers and Leaders in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Award, and is one of the world's foremost practitioners, teachers, and writers on Classical Five-Element Acupuncture, with 90 articles featured in the international publication Acupuncture Today (read them here).
